WORDS ALOUD LITERARY FESTIVAL – NOVEMBER 2-4
I am very happy to be returning to the Words Aloud Literary Festival next weekend, to share in the incredible weekend of performances. There are writers from coast to coast participating, many of whom are award winning in their own right, and the rooms will be packed with talent and amazing conversations. Not to mention a variety of styles; Corin Raymond and the Guelph Spoken Word Team will be hosting a slam on the Sunday, and performances throughout the weekend.
I will be returning to the stage as a feature on Saturday night, and, after a year of writing, am very happy to be premiering all new poems from what will (eventually) be my new collection of work. It has been a wonderful year of writing and, with the continued support of editor Molly Peacock, I have been cobbling together and refining my chosen words. I have truly enjoyed stepping back in order to look more closely at the pages in front of me, but I have to admit the thought of getting back on stage is a wonderful one; I do miss it, constructing a theme, sharing and speaking with an audience, feeding from their input into the selected poems.
I am honoured to be a part of the line up this weekend, and encourage you to make the time for yourself to come out. I will also be leading a workshop about structure, and there are many other excellent workshops to choose from, from haiku to editorial to concise poetry, for writers of all styles and stripes. Please explore the link and consider putting all this rainy weather to use!
Thanks for listening. Enjoy.
