Lara Bozabalian – Life 2.0

Launch!

Hello~

Extremely excited to have just touched the first copy of my brand new collection, The Cartographer’s Skin, which will be coming out next Thursday as part of the Hot Sauced Words reading series. It has been a long, intricate road and I am so very pleased with the result.
Please come out on May 20th to celebrate with me, and listen to some amazing Toronto poets (including Allan Briesmaster, Kate Marshall Flaherty, David Silverberg, Kevin Fortnum) guest read some of my poems. I’ll be reading from the new book, which I can not wait to share with you.

If you are not in or around the Toronto area next week, please keep an eye on my Upcoming Shows page (currently under reconstruction), as I have launches planned for Montreal (mid-July), Vancouver and Whistler (late July), and hopefully will add shows to Calgary and the East Coast come August or early fall. I will also be performing at the Words Alive Literary Festival on September 18 and leading a workshop at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word on October 16, among a few other dates, still in the works…

On the heels of a recent (and lovely) nomination for the York Region District School Board’s 2010 Teacher of the Year Award, I have decided to make good one some of my long held teacher/writer dreams, and branch out in a few new directions. If you are interested in developing your own writing in the areas of poetry or prose, keep an eye on the Online Courses page; I will be running month-long online writing programs through the months of August, October, and March. These programs are affordable and suited for writers at the beginner to high intermediate level.

If you have a series that needs a poet, or a venue that needs a show, please let me know. I am happy to drum up a wild cast and crew of amazing poets to share the room with you… Also remember to check out the infamous Anything Goes Slam this Saturday, as usual, at the Drake Underground; Trey Anthony is the feature and I am certain it’s going to be an incredible show.

Thanks for listening..

Lara
